The Citizen's Fire Company was packed Saturday night as local boxers Joe Mazzuca and Chip Evans set their sights on advancement to the PA Golden Gloves Regional Championships.
Local boxer and Pottsville Area High School student Chip Evans fought his way to a three round victory at PA Golden Gloves Regionals. Chip dominated all three rounds of the fight. In round three, Chip dropped his opponent to a knee with a solid left hook up top. Congratulations to Chip on a high paced and well executed fight.
Local MMA fighter Jonathan Murphy will appear on the new MTV series Bully Beatdown. The concept of the show pits hometown bullies against professional MMA fighters in one segment each of kickboxing and grappling. The show airs every Sunday at 9:30 PM. PA Golden Gloves will be having a regional competition at the Citizens Fire Company in Palo Alto, PA.
